The automated integration between Nifty and Slack provides allows for empowered collaboration, better task management, and improved workflow efficiency.

This integration allows you to:

  • Mirror Slack channels and Nifty discussions across platforms for seamless, one or (coming soon) two-way communication.

  • Create Nifty Lists from Slack into a Nifty project.

  • Create Nifty Tasks from Slack into a Nifty project.

  • Create Nifty Statuses from Slack into a Nifty project.

  • Create Nifty Docs from Slack into a Nifty project.

  • Create messages in Slack based on automated actions in Nifty

How to Integrate Nifty with Slack

1. In your Slack workspace, locate the + Add apps section of your sidebar.

2. Search for "Nifty" and install the app.

3. Once you've downloaded the app, get started by using the following slash command in your Slack workspace:

/nifty

The first time you use this command, we'll slide into your DMs in the Apps section.

4. From here, you'll need to log into Nifty and verify Slack. Start by accessing the Automations section of a Project. If you do not have access to Automations, you can also integrate Slack via the App Center section of your dropdown menu.

5. Scroll to the bottom of the sidebar and locate the Slack app. You can trigger the account integration screen by creating a new integration.

6. Finish by integrating Nifty with your Slack account.

One or Two-way (coming soon) Sync Between A Slack Channel & Nifty Discussion

1. In Nifty, select the Automation tool at the top of a project.

2. Locate Slack under the Integrations section of the sidebar. Select the channel from the dropdown menu in the automation screen and press Add. Define in which direction(s) communications should be relayed.

Messages will now be reflected between the Slack Channel and Nifty Discussion based on your defined directions.

Nifty's Slack App FAQs

Do I need to manage this app from my Personal or Team App Center?

  • You can integrate via Slack, but automations must be created from within Nifty.

Does every member of my team need to integrate?

  • Only one user in a Slack Channel needs to integrate with a Nifty project to sync with that project's Discussion. To create Nifty-to-Slack automations as well as use /commands in Slack, a user will need to set this integration.
